The first time you open Once Upon A Storytime, you're greeted by a warm, full-screen welcome — the Storyteller's Threshold. It sets the mood, tells you what this place is about, and invites you gently in.
It also introduces the three scannable signals that appear on every story card — so you never have to open a story to know if it's the right fit.
Tonight's Story
In the homepage hero, you'll always find a Tonight's Story — a thoughtfully chosen recommendation waiting for you each evening.
It's not random. The recommendation refreshes every evening at 7PM IST, so there's always something new waiting when bedtime rolls around. Tap or click it to go straight to the story — no searching, no scrolling.
Filter by Age & Format
Whether you're on the homepage or the full Stories archive, a row of filter chips sits above the story grid. Tap the age group that fits your child — the grid instantly reshapes to show only what's right for them.
Want only audio stories? Tap 🎧 Audio. Only videos? Tap ▶️ Video. You can combine age and format filters freely.
Reading On the Page
Every story opens into a clean, distraction-free reading view. The text is sized and spaced for comfortable reading on any screen — phone, tablet, or desktop.
At the top of each story, format chips tell you whether the story is also available on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Amazon Music. Tap any chip to jump straight to that episode.
At the bottom, a Read Next section suggests what to read after — matched to the same age group and story categories, not just whatever was published most recently.
Read Together — Flipbook Mode
Some stories — especially for our youngest readers aged 3 to 5 — have a special flipbook experience. Instead of scrolling, you move through the story page by page.
Illustrated spreads. Caption zones at the bottom. Designed to be read aloud together, like a real picture book open in your hands.
Look for the Flipbook badge on story cards. On mobile, swipe to turn pages. On desktop, use the arrow buttons.
Listen & Drift Away
Once Upon A Storytime stories are recorded and released as audio episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music. Find the latest episodes in the Listen & Drift Away section on the homepage.
Each audio card shows the story artwork, episode duration, and links directly to your preferred listening platform. Tap the artwork to go to the story page, or tap a platform chip to open the episode directly.
Install as an App — No App Store Needed
Once Upon A Storytime works as a full app on your phone or tablet — and you don't need to visit any app store to get it. It installs directly from your browser in a few taps.

The Mandala — Your Navigation Companion
On any mobile phone or tablet, something a little magical happens when you're reading a story. Tap anywhere on the screen and a small mandala appears near your finger — gently rotating, softly present.
Tap it again and it opens into a radial fan of navigation options — everything you need without ever leaving the page.
Read Offline — No Internet Needed
Once you've installed the app and visited a few stories, they're saved to your device automatically. Open them again any time — even on a flight, in the car, or somewhere without Wi-Fi.
The site will let you know when you're offline and show you what's available from your last visit. Your stories are always with you.
