How do aeroplanes fly?
So, you know when you blow up a balloon and let it go, and it zooms all around the room? That’s a little bit like how an aeroplane works.
Aeroplanes have big engines that suck in air and blow it out really fast, just like when you let go of a balloon. This pushes the aeroplane forward.
Now, the wings of the aeroplane are very special. They’re shaped so that when the aeroplane moves forward, the air above the wings moves faster than the air below the wings. This difference creates an upward push, or “lift,” that helps the aeroplane rise into the sky.
The aeroplane’s tail and the little flaps on the wings help it steer, just like how you can steer your bicycle. The pilots in the cockpit control all of this to make the aeroplane go up, down, or turn around.
So, in simple words, aeroplanes fly because their engines push them forward, and their wings lift them up into the sky. Isn’t that cool?
