Once upon a time, in a forest bursting with colourful blooms and lush green leaves lived a buzzing honeybee named Bhramar and a graceful butterfly named Titli. Bhramar, with her golden wings shimmering in the sunlight, was always in a rush, zipping from one radiant flower to another, hungrily sucking up nectar. Titli, on the other hand, danced gracefully through the forest, her rainbow-coloured wings catching the sun as she leisurely fluttered from one sweet-smelling flower to another.
One bright sunny day, Bhramar discovered a new, untouched field chock-full of blossoming, nectar-rich flowers. Overwhelmed with excitement, Bhramar hastily set to work, dashing from one flower to another, gathering as much nectar as her little legs could carry.
“I’ve found a treasure trove, Titli!” Bhramar buzzed proudly, her legs sticky with golden nectar. “This is a honey lover’s dream come true!”
Titli, sensing the haste in Bhramar’s voice, gently warned her, “Remember, Bhramar, haste makes waste. It’s important to observe and understand our surroundings before diving in.”
But Bhramar was too intoxicated by the bounty of nectar to heed Titli’s advice. She continued her frenzied collecting, not realising that this new field was dangerously close to a farm where humans lived.
The next day, as Bhramar was feverishly collecting nectar, she was spotted by a curious human child. Terrified, Bhramar tried to escape but flew right into a clear glass jar the child was holding. She was trapped!
Watching this from a nearby flower, Titli quickly came up with a plan. She fluttered around the child, her bright wings catching the sunlight. Intrigued, the child reached out, trying to catch Titli to add her to the jar as well.
Titli led the child on a merry chase around the field, always just out of reach. She was careful to keep the child’s attention and ensure the child was too preoccupied to realise she was being led away from the jar.
In the excitement of the chase, the child forgot all about Bhramar and left the jar open. Seeing her chance, Bhramar flew out of the jar and away to the safety of the tree canopy above.
Eventually, Titli led the child to a wildflower patch where dozens of her butterfly friends danced in the sunlight, their colourful wings sparkling. Enthralled by this mesmerising sight, the child forgot all about trying to catch Titli.
Flying back to the field, Titli found Bhramar safe and sound. “Thank you, Titli,” Bhramar said, her voice shaken. “From now on, I will never act hastily again.” And true to her word, Bhramar learned to observe her surroundings carefully before venturing into a new field.
