Kaka knew it was time for his greatest challenge. He called all the animals together.
“Friends,” he said, his voice carrying over the anxious murmurs, “this drought tests us all. But remember your dharma. We each have a role to play in saving our home.”
He turned to the elephants. “Your strength can dig deep wells.” To the monkeys: “Your agility can help you find hidden water sources in the canopy.” To the rabbits and squirrels: “Your knowledge of the earth can guide us to underground streams.”
As the animals began to work together, each according to their abilities, a remarkable thing happened. Not only did they discover a hidden water source deep in the forest, but they also found strength in their unity.
Months later, as the first rains fell, the forest celebrated. Animals danced together, and their past conflicts were forgotten. Kaka watched from his favourite branch, his heart full of joy.
A young deer approached him. “Kaka, how did you become so wise?”
Kaka chuckled. “By observing, little one. By understanding that we are all connected, all part of a greater whole. That is the true essence of dharma.”
As the celebration continued, Kaka spread his wings and soared high above the forest. From up there, he could see the harmony he had helped create – a living, breathing example of the power of dharma and the importance of fulfilling one’s duties.
And so, in the heart of India, in a forest where the air hummed with life and the trees whispered ancient secrets, peace reigned. All thanks to a wise, old and clever crow named Kaka, who had shown them the path of dharma.
